Dear Parent or Guardian,

 

          I am extremely delighted to have your student in my seventh grade science class. Your child will participate in many exciting and rewarding experiences this year.

2- Two pocket folders

-         Loose-leaf paper

-         Pens (black and blue ONLY)

-         Pencils

 

This year your student will be issued a science book, they are responsible for them until June 2009.

RULES

 

  1. Come to class prepared (pen, paper, book, folder)
  2. Stay in your seat.
  3. Do not talk while the teacher is talking.
  4. Keep your hands and feet to yourself (NO hitting, No touching)
  5. NO gum, candy, chips, or pop.

 

CONSEQUENCES

 

  1. Written punishment
  2. Written punishment (x2) with parent/guardian signature
  3. Telephone call home
  4. Referral to dean

Failure to do written punishment will result in referral to dean

 

Severe disruption – sent directly to Dean

 

 

 

 

 

GRADING SCALE

100% - 90% = A

89% - 80% = B

79% - 70 % = C

69% - 60% = D

59% and below = F

All tests are worth 100 pts.

All quizzes are worth 50 pts.

All labs reports are worth 25 pts.

All class assignments are worth 10 pts.

All homework assignments are worth 10 pts.

 

Your student is expected to keep a folder of all graded work, which will be handed in at the end of each grading period.

 

PROGRESS REPORTS

A progress report will be sent home approximately third week of every grading period. The progress report needs to be signed and returned within a week for credit.

ATTENDENCE

 

TARDIES- I strictly follow the school’s tardy policy.

Excused absences- this work can be made up IT IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY to ask for make up work and to return work.  Student will receive a class average for a Test or Quiz

Unexcused absences- this work CAN NOT be made up. Student will receive a ZERO for a Test or Quiz.

Suspensions-Student will receive a ZERO for the days of suspensions.
