Year 1: Motivational Trip

· 30 East Chicago teenagers entering their freshman year of high school are chosen after filling out an application packet and interviewing with the Program Director & the Programs Manager.

· 8 mentors consisting of Jane Sloan, Program Director, teachers from School City of East Chicago, community members, and police officers.

· Participants who are accepted into the program have to complete 25 hours of community service.

· 5 days Motivational Trip to Washington DC.  Including visiting multiple monuments, Smithsonian  museums, Colonial Williamsburg, VA, Holocaust Museum, Congress, Arlington National Cemetery and much more.
